Proper Water Feature Maintenance!

There are a lot of variables at play as to how often your feature is going need to be maintained. This is just a small list.

-Size

-Shape

-Feature Type - Is it a wall fountain, rocky mountain feature, basalt column, etc!

-Do you have KOI or plants?

-Location, are you in an open field or surrounded by shade trees?

This is just a small list before we even talk about pump size, aeration, and other potential variables.

Either way, having your feature properly cleaned and maintained will lead to

-Longer life of your equipment

-Removal of odors

-Maximizing the visual impact of your feature or simply its Beauty!

-Correct pump pressure to ensure you get the desired sound.

At the end of the day, you want a visually stunning feature that also soothes with the sounds of water.

To begin you want to make sure you are setting yourself up for success with the correct startup. That includes checking all equipment for functionality and proper operation.

At this point, if you are looking for a different look, change in water sound, water quality, etc it might be time to give us a call for a free consultation.

Maintenance throughout the year should include regularly scheduled cleaning and water treatment to maintain a clean and well-running feature. This is important to keep the integrity of your equipment and obviously reduce any murkiness or odor.

To end the year a proper winterization is going to set you up for a smooth start in the spring. If not done properly you could run into issues with broken pipes, pumps, or worse depending on the feature. The good news is this can be easily avoided by shutting down properly.
